Worth Blogging

Eau Rouge is a pretty famous set of corners at Spa-Fracorchamps, the F1 track in Belgium.

Here are some very fast cars going through the section:

Here is the same section with F1 cars from 2009:

Christmas 2010

December 25th, 2010 by admin

Christmas is a family time for us, so we usually spend quite a bit of time driving.
This year we spent most of the time at my sister’s place down at Watsons Bay.

We are really lucky living in Australia to be able to spend Christmas on a day like this.

CJP pulling funny faces.

His royal face.

Cousin Charlie thought it was still Movember.

While Livie’s face was all chocolate.

Meanwhile, the grown ups feasted. I didn’t complain when I was asked to take some ham home.

Even though rain was forecast. Even though I was totally drained from a week of long shoots. Sometimes everything works.

$24,000,000 JOB

December 4th, 2010 by admin

I’ve just wrapped up a week long event where I was at a very impressive house. HPHouse was a series of events showcasing some of HP’s new range including the Beats by Dr. Dre equipped laptops.

HP House Sydney
The house is very impressive. Amazing location, perfect layout. During my time I was thinking what I would change about it. And the only two things I thought of was to make the downstairs games room a dedicated home theater, and make the garage a little bigger to fit say 5-6 cars instead of the 3-4 it’s curently capable of fitting.

The Apprentice Australia House
The house was used for the first season of the Australian Apprentice. The low res screen shot shows the position, but watch the clip from the show to get a proper feel for it. (click the image)

Jumping on Beds HP House
When I had a few minutes spare between events, I had to do my JOB in the master bedroom.

Jumping on Beds HP House Sydney
Since the only branded product I had with me was the HPHouse pillow, I thought, lets try a floating sleeping shot.

Jumping on Beds HP House Sydney
It’s difficult to sleep in zero gravity.

G-Star jeans aren’t the best for trying the splits.

The HPHouse also has a pretty cool website of its own, check it out here.

Too Busy to Blog

November 29th, 2010 by admin

Pretty much.

I’ve had a very busy few weeks, with lots of week long projects taking up most of my time. One of them was a super rushed trip to Turkey and London. I spent more time in the air than on the ground, and felt like a CIA agent. I flew from Sydney to Singapore to Dubai to Istanbul, where we had one nights sleep, then to London the next day, another night and then back to Singapore and onto Melbourne. That went fron Sunday to Friday Australian time, so it was 6 actual nights, but we only managed to have 2 in beds. Anyway. Here are some highlights from Turkey.

I look at this sign and think, Transit Yo!

Huge saw on little bobcat.

The Taxi drivers were fun. People were literally jumping out of the way.

The Grand Bazaar, a 58 street, 1200 store, 550 year old shopping mall.

Tonnes of Gold for sale.

And lots of fakes.

I had to.

Pomegranates were in season so were everywhere. Pomegranate mixed with Orange juice is pretty good.

Cool lights.

Hitchcock would have liked it.

Basketball is very popular in Turkey, our hotel had a 24 hour NBA channel that was cool, until we saw the same game 3 times.

A huge amount of shipping goes through Istanbul.

I spotted this cool black on black Camaro inside Galatasaray’s training ground. Hot.

More to come…

Hunter Valley

October 12th, 2010 by admin

Just returned from 3 days in the Hunter Valley. I’m not a big wine drinker, but I like the look of the vines, as well as the idea of it all. Growing grapes, making wine, etc etc.

Hunter Valley vines
This is Tintilla Estate, a small family run winery that produce some good wines. One of the better looking locations too.

Hunter Valley vines
Now is a great time to visit, the weather is still quite cool, but the vines are very green.

Hunter Valley Tower Estate Winery
Tower Estate is a well know winery and they have quite a pretty cellar.

Hunter Valley Tower Estate spit
Spotted this cool picture at Tower.

Hunter Valley BMW
Our friends came along and Chris drove his BMW, a nice car for touring the highways. Although the Hunter roads are in a terrible state.

Hunter Valley Michael
Mikeology loved the entire weekend, especially Sunday nights dinner.

Firestick Cafe Hunter Valley
Sunday lunch was at the well regarded Firestick Cafe. While I wasn’t happy with my selection (Pork Pizza) everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the location is stunning.

Hunter Valley Firestick Cafe Steak
Steak and chips, but better. The Café de Paris butter sauce was amazing.

Hunter Valley firestick cafe wagyu burger
The Wagyu burger was also a popular choice.

J.O.B. – Jumping On Boats

September 21st, 2010 by admin

Been flat out again, working super long hours for the last 6 days or so, with events in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. Speaking of which, here are some J.O.B. pics with a slight twist, Jumping on Boats. The Gold Coast Auto Salon after party was held on a multimillion dollar cruiser, so I couldn’t resist but to do a jump or two. That padding on the stern of the boat isn’t quite as suited to J.O.B.’ing as a traditional bed, but no pain no gain.
