New lights

April 30th, 2009 by admin

I’m always looking for ways to improve my shots, using new techniques, new equipment or new styles. One thing I’m currently experimenting with, is various types of lighting. I built myself a flouro setup, which uses 36W tubes powered by either a generator, of an inverter run from a car. So far I’m happy with it in some ways and not in others. In one way they are too powerful, not blending into the environment neatly. However, I do need to try them at more than one location.

Maybe a DIY cardboard softbox will be better. You can dim fluro’s but pretty sure it’s $$$$ to get them dim-able.
