40 Years of No Change

February 17th, 2009 by admin

Spent last weekend in Melbourne. We flew in late on Friday night, and I booked a late dinner for us at Vlado’s. Vlado’s is internationally known as one of the best steaks in the world, so I jumped at the chance of sampling it.

This is the second course, the first is home made sausage, and this is pork, eye fillet, and a small hamburger.
The set menu is full of meat, and is actually quite good value. All 6 of us were completely satisfied.

It took some effort, but was well worth it. Definitely in the top 3 pieces of meat I’ve ever eaten.
The main meal is of course, a steak of your choosing. The waiter brings out a tray of meat, asks which cut you would like and how you want it cooked. Half of us went for the large eye fillet, the other half and chose a porterhouse cut. Either option was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I loved how it arrived; one plate, one steak.
