Hunter Valley

October 12th, 2010 by admin

Just returned from 3 days in the Hunter Valley. I’m not a big wine drinker, but I like the look of the vines, as well as the idea of it all. Growing grapes, making wine, etc etc.

Hunter Valley vines
This is Tintilla Estate, a small family run winery that produce some good wines. One of the better looking locations too.

Now is a great time to visit, the weather is still quite cool, but the vines are very green.

Hunter Valley Tower Estate Winery
Tower Estate is a well know winery and they have quite a pretty cellar.

Spotted this cool picture at Tower.

Hunter Valley BMW
Our friends came along and Chris drove his BMW, a nice car for touring the highways. Although the Hunter roads are in a terrible state.

Hunter Valley Michael
Mikeology loved the entire weekend, especially Sunday nights dinner.

Firestick Cafe Hunter Valley
Sunday lunch was at the well regarded Firestick Cafe. While I wasn’t happy with my selection (Pork Pizza) everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the location is stunning.

Hunter Valley Firestick Cafe Steak
Steak and chips, but better. The Café de Paris butter sauce was amazing.

The Wagyu burger was also a popular choice.
