Box Car

May 29th, 2009 by admin

I have a friend who has some nice cars, his current play thing is an original KGC10 Skyline, known as the Hakosuka.
One recent weeknight we both had some time, so I took a couple of pics of it.

Yes, wallpaper sized versions are coming.

The big 3

Australia’s magazine market is huge for its population, it’s rare for one photographer to get covers for a few mags, but that’s what my good friend and fellow snapper Easton Chang has just achieved. The top three selling car mags in Aus, three great shots. Actually, the new edition of Wheels just hit the stands soon after I took this shot, and Easton’s work graced the cover yet again. Congrats mate.

It always brings a smile to my face. This time it’s from Honda tuner Spoon, and their wiper b(l)rades.

Here’s something you don’t see everyday

It’s a rotary powered motorbike. Suzuki produced these in the mid 70s, and I spotted one at a Sydney performance workshop.

Check the instruments. The blue visor lifts up.

The 500 odd cc Rotary engine made decent power in its day, but the bike was quite heavy, as the rotary needed a massive radiator and oil cooler to cool it.

Wacky design

Continues to the rear.

A Bug’s Life

This little guy rode home with me for a few kms. I’m not sure how he got there or where he went, but he stayed on when I was doing 80km/h and disappeared when I stopped. I originally uploaded this on my flickr page, which is something I really only use for uploading the odd pics from my Nokia N95. I did run an N series photo of the day for a week, and now it’s an N series photo when I don’t have any other cameras with me.

3 big time shoots

May 6th, 2009 by admin

My mind has been focused on 3 shoots in recent days, I have been constantly going over the three shoots, how to setup the lighting, the locations, all of the details, in mixed order for most of my waking and some of my sleeping hours. I completed the first shoot yesterday, and I am pretty happy with the results.

Here’s part of the setup I used, I’ll be able to post more in about two months or so. The other two shoots are still coming up. One is car related, the other is a pretty big sport star. Again, I will post more info as soon as I have the OK. Either way, I reckon my mind will be racing until both shoots are finished. I do know however, that I will be 100% focused at the task at hand. My time spent on the first shoot was about the only time that I wasn’t thinking about the other two. I liked that.
